Dubai humidity is tough on beards. Hair frizzes, skin underneath gets irritated, and products that worked elsewhere can feel wrong here. At The Gents Room, we see the same questions every week — so here is a straightforward guide from our chair.

How often to wash

Two to three times per week is enough for most beards. Daily shampooing strips natural oils and makes frizz worse in Gulf weather. Use a gentle beard wash or a sulphate-free face cleanser, and always dry thoroughly.

Oil vs balm

Beard oil (like our Beard Oil — Oud & Amber) is best for length and daily softness. Apply to a damp beard, work through with a boar bristle brush, and finish with a comb.

Balm adds hold for shaping — useful if your beard fans out in humidity. Use oil first, balm second if you need control.

Trim schedule

Book a Beard Sculpt every three to four weeks to keep cheek lines and neckline clean. Between visits, resist over-trimming the length — focus on strays only.

When to see a barber

If your skin is irritated, your line has grown uneven, or you are preparing for an event, a professional sculpt fixes what home trimming cannot. Pair it with a Hot Towel Shave for the neck area — the difference is immediate.

After your visit

Our Post-Shave Balm calms razor work without stinging. Avoid heavy fragrance if your skin is sensitive, and keep the neck area moisturised in air-conditioned environments.
